Today we take a look at the worst picks of the 1986 Drafts.

#24 - Los Angeles Raiders - Bob Buczkowski - Defensive End - Pittsburgh
This was a very close race and there are a couple other individuals strongly considered. The Patriots selection  of Running Back Reggie Dupard, who didn't rush over 3 yards a carry in 3 of his 4 seasons in New England, with the 26th pick was considered especially since 4 time Pro Bowl Running Back Neal Anderson was taken the very next selective by the Super Bowl winning Chicago Bears. Offensive Tackle Brian Jozwiak out of West Virginia was taken 7th by the Chiefs and only started 3 games in 3 seasons until a hip injury forced him out of the game was the leader until more information on "Bucco Bob" surfaced. Bob-O recorded 1.5 sacks in parts of 5 seasons but only logged time in 3 with the Raiders, Cardinals and Browns. He only recorded stats for the Silver and Black in the 1987 season.
The thing to push Buczkowski over the top was a 2007 guilty plea, according to Trib Review the story goes a little like this...

"A former Pitt star and NFL first-round draft pick has pleaded guilty to helping run a million-dollar prostitution ring out of his parent's Monroeville home.
Bob Buczkowski, 43, ran an escort service along with his girlfriend, Amy Schifano, police said. Buczkowski provided the muscle and Schifano was the madam, the state Attorney General's office said."
You can read the story HERE
So this incident boosted Pimp Daddy Buczkowski to the #1 spot for the 1986 NFL Draft. Congratulations Bob, players gotta to play.

#2 - Boston Celtics - Len Bias - Forward - Maryland
This is a no brainer. Bias was suppose to be the next Jordan, he was suppose to bring in a new era for the Celtics; but Bias died of a cocaine overdose two days after the NBA Draft.

The 1986 Draft was a draft that had many first-rounders washout of the league due to drugs. The second round had four times the amount of All-Stars as the first (4 to 1). In a normal draft Roy Tarpley, Chris Washburn and a host of other first round picks would be prime candidates for this slot in 1986 but the fact that Len Bias wouldn't even make it to a practice with the Celtics makes him the obvious choice. The tragic death woke up other young athletes about the dangers of bad decisions but what-ifs will forever linger about the potential classic match-ups between Jordan and the Bulls vs Bias and the Celtics.

There is a good amount of what if's about Bias from dalockerroom.com that you can get to by clicking the link. I'll be back tomorrow with a more cheerful worst draft picks of 1987.
